Sources: Giants attain deal for Cubs’ Bryant


The San Francisco Giants have reached a deal to accumulate star third baseman Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs, sources informed ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Friday.

Bryant was drafted by the Cubs in 2013, profitable Rookie of the 12 months and MVP in consecutive seasons. He helped the group break its 108-year championship drought again in 2016.

The transfer capped a large housecleaning by the Cubs previous to the commerce deadline, with the group buying and selling away Anthony Rizzo, Craig Kimbrel and Javier Baez, amongst others.
