Kuokkanen returns to Devils with two-year deal


NEWARK, N.J. — Finnish ahead Janne Kuokkanen has signed a two-year contract to return to the New Jersey Devils.

Basic supervisor Tom Fitzgerald mentioned the 23-year-old restricted free agent will earn $1.6 million this season and greater than $2 million in 2022-23.

Kuokkanen had eight targets and 17 assists in 50 video games final season. His aim/help/level totals ranked second amongst Devils’ rookies. His 21 even-strength factors ranked sixth amongst all NHL rookie skaters.

Kuokkanen began final season in Finland’s prime professional league, totaling three targets and 4 assists in 16 video games.

The left-handed taking pictures ahead has performed in 62 profession NHL video games. He was Carolina’s second-round choice within the 2016 draft. He was acquired by the Devils together with Fredrik Claesson and Carolina’s conditional fourth-round decide within the 2020 NHL draft for defenseman Sami Vatanen in February 2020.
