2021 Monitor World Championships: Occasion to be moved to France, UCI confirms

The 2021 Monitor Biking World Championships shall be moved to Roubaix in France, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has introduced.

The occasion was initially scheduled to happen in Turkmenistan from 13-17 October.

It was moved at the request of the organisers due to restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

The championships will now happen every week later than deliberate from 20-24 October.

It will likely be held on the Velodrome Couvert Regional Jean-Stablinski (recognized regionally as “Le Stab”), which has a 250m monitor.

The annual flagship occasion will function a high-quality discipline and the UCI confirmed that “many of the gold medallists” from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Video games shall be competing.

This 12 months’s occasion will play a decisive function in qualification for the inaugural UCI Monitor Champions League, which begins in November.
