Rangers legend Lundqvist pronounces retirement


Saying “it is time,” goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has introduced his retirement, ending a legendary 15-year NHL profession.

“For the final 30 years, I’ve devoted my life to the sport of hockey … and now it is time to stroll away from the sport I like and start a brand new chapter,” Lundqvist wrote in a statement on Twitter on Friday. “The longer term excites me. I’ve met so many wonderful individuals through the years that can assist to information and encourage me in my new journey.”
