LPGA Shanghai canceled amid journey restrictions


SHANGHAI, China — The LPGA Tour mentioned in an announcement Wednesday that the Buick LPGA Shanghai match scheduled for mid-October has been canceled because of ongoing COVID-19 journey restrictions.

The match was scheduled for the Qizhong Backyard Golf Membership from Oct. 14-17.

There are two tournaments scheduled for the next weeks in Asia, the BMW Girls Championship in Busan, South Korea from Oct. 21-24, and the TOTO Japan Traditional in Otsu, Japan, from Nov. 4-7.

One other match scheduled for the week in between these two occasions, the Taiwan Swinging Skirts at Taipei, has already been canceled because of related COVID-19 restrictions.
